Spring is here

I love the arrival of spring with the welcoming sound of bird song and the pleasing site of new life blooming throughout the garden. I enjoy spending time outdoors in the garden whenever I get the opportunity. Whether this be planting out new plants, flowers or seeds or tending to existing ones, it all helps valuable pollinators and wildlife. For me the garden is more than an extension of the home providing somewhere to sit and relax or entertain. The inspiration for my art and design comes from spending time outdoors where I am surrounded by the sounds and sites of nature. My varied art and design background has introduced me too many different ways of working and I enjoy creating art that explores these.

Although my most recent work is mixed media where I have opted for a more traditional way of working, I sometimes enjoy testing out my designs digitally. I prefer to sketch out my ideas initially by creating a few sketches before deciding on a chosen design. I then import my design into Photoshop where I add colour and then into Procreate, as I like using the different textures that this programme has to offer.
